Jennifer Lopez Latest news

Jennifer Lopez is an American singer, actress, dancer and entrepreneur. Recently Forbes magazine named her the richest person of Latin descent and People en Espanol magazine named her the most influential Hispanic entertainer in the U.S. She has appeared on many magazine covers throughout her career.
Lopez was born and grew up in the South Bronx in New York to Puerto Rican parents. After graduating from high school and briefly attending college Lopez worked part-time as a dancer in Manhattan nightclubs while also auditioning for dance jobs. In 1990 she landed many rap music videos, "Yo! MTV Raps" and a back-up dance spot for the New Kids on the Block and finally a dance spot on the television show "In Living Color." On "In Living Color," Lopez was a "Fly Girl." Later Lopez became a back-up dancer for Janet Jackson.
Through the early 1990s Lopez lands various television roles and a few movie roles including "Mi Familia" with Jimmy Smits, "Money Train" with Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson and "U-Turn" with Oliver Stone.
Finally in 1997 Lopez landed her breakthrough role--the lead in a bio-pic of slain Tejano singer Selena. That same year Lopez wed Ojani Noa in a Catholic ceremony. The next year Lopez starred in the action-drama Out of Sight, which was nominated for an Oscar, with George Clooney. Critics, including Owen Gleiberman from Entertainment Weekly magazine, raved about her performance, "Lopez, for all her Latina siren voluptuousness, has always projected a continued coolness, and this is the first movie in which it fully works for her."
By 1999 Lopez divorced Noa and her debut album, "On the 6" became a major hit spawning five hit singles including the triple platinum "If You Had My Love." Lopez also makes headlines and lands in celebrity magazines like People, Us Weekly and OK! for her new boyfriend--hip hop mogul and bad boy Sean Puffy Combs, who produced Lopez's album. At the Grammy's, after a legal skirmish, Lopez appears with Combs in the now infamous Versace barely there dress.
But it wasn't until July of 2002 when Lopez began dating actor Ben Affleck--on the heels of her second divorce from dancer Cris Judd, that she hit the big time in terms of celebrity magazine coverage. The couple became known as "Bennifer," and were dogged by the media their entire one-year relationship, which included a brief engagement. After their movie "Gigli" bombed at the box office the couple called it quits.
Lopez rebounded quickly--five months after calling her engagement to Affleck off, she married singer Marc Anthony, a former boyfriend, in Miami. By 2007 Lopez landed her seventh appearance on People magazine's "Most Beautiful" list and shortly thereafter confirmed her pregnancy with twins.
In all Lopez has released seven albums, including two Billboard magazine #1 albums and four Billboard magazine Hot 100 #1 singles. In 2003 she won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and in 2007 the American Music Award for Favorite Latin Artist. For her movie roles, she won the ALMA Award for outstanding actress in Selena, Out of Sight and Angel Eyes.
In 2008 Lopez gave birth to fraternal twins Max and Emme and appeared on the cover of People magazine with the babies. Lopez has also recently appeared on the covers of Elle, Allure, Glitter, Bazaar, People, People En Espanol, Rolling Stone, Glamour, OK! magazine, Us Weekly and Self magazine.
