Wimbledon tennis championships 2015 is about to begin and you can watch the whole thing onine via a few different websites and various other ways including your smartphone or tablet. This is where we we show you how you can watch Wimbledon 2015 online in the UK, live and catchup.

Provided you have a valid TV licence, you can tune into Wimbledon live or catch up on-demand through your PC,laptop, tablet, smartphone or games console. The coverage is free to watch, but it's worth checking your data allowance if you don't subscribe to a broadband package with unlimited downloads and want to avoid a hefty bill.

Wimbledon 2015 dates and order of play

This year's Wimbledon tournament kicks-off today, 29 June, and runs until 12 July when you'll want gather round to watch the final. There will be play every day apart from 5 July which is a rest day.

One of the easiest ways to see the order of play for any day of Wimbledon 2015 is to head to the official websitewhere you can get an overview of who is playing, on which court and the scheduled time. As usual, things can change due to the weather.

Watch Wimbledon 2015 online: Live video stream

The BBC will be making Wimbledon available to watch live across BBC TV, Red Button, radio, online, mobile, the BBC Sport app and Connected TV. So, when the coverage begins, you'll be able to tune in online by visiting the BBC Sport website where there will be up to 15 live streams.

You can also visit BBC iPlayer and click TV Guide to select the programme. The tennis will be streaming live from the BBC on both of those websites, and through their dedicated apps (BBC Sport, BBC iPlayer).

TVCatchup also lets you watch live free-to-air UK television on your computer, phone, tablet or games console. Versions of the site optimised for iPad and iPhone are available at ipad.tvcatchup.com and iphone.tvcatchup.com, and there's also a TVCatchup app available in the iTunes Store and Google Play Store.

Head to TVCatchup.com and go to the TV Guide. Choose the correct channel for the particular tennis match you want to watch live online. You can also change the stream quality, which is useful if you don't have a particularly fast broadband connection.

TVCatchup kicks off with an ad, then immediately begins streaming your chosen TV channel. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tennis. If you're using a desktop browser to watch Wimbledon on TVCatchup you can use its new Desktop Player to watch and record live TV.

Simplestream's TVPlayer is a similar free app, which works across desktop, mobile and tablet, and supports push notifications to keep you up to date on all the major sporting events.

Watch Wimbledon 2015 online: Catch up on-demand 

iPlayer is the BBC's free catch-up TV service, though some programmes are available to stream live here too as mentioned above. If you happened to miss a match, you'll find that programmes are available for seven days following their transmission on BBC iPlayer, but note that the service's Download and Series Record features are not usually available for sporting events, such as Wimbledon. 

To watch Wimbledon on a Windows, Mac or Linux PC, simply head to bbc.co.uk/iplayer for the desktop version of the site. Dedicated apps are available from Google Play and the App Store for Android 2.2+ tablets and the iPad respectively, while Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Wii owners can stream content from Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network or through a Wii app.

If the tennis match you're after isn't featured on the home page, search Wimbledon in the Find a programme search bar on the left. The following screen will show the Wimbledon that is currently available to watch. Scroll down to find and select the match in the list. Click the arrow in the video frame to begin playback. There are also options to pause, fast-forward and rewind the action, turn on subtitles, and watch the match full-screen or in a pop-out window.

Below the stream are links to more games; look to the bottom of the screen for a Lower Bandwidth setting if you're experiencing trouble with playback.

You may find that much of the Wimbledon coverage listed in iPlayer is marked 'Not available'. Official Wimbledon app

There is an offical app for Wimbledon which you can download free on iPhone, iPad and Android. It includes live scores, news, live blog, order of play, live at Wimbledon video, live at Wimbledon radio and the iPad version features a 360' video.
